Programming Projects

Projekt Everblood
(Gamemaker Studio 2)

Projekt Everblood is a 2D top-down action game set in an alternate World War 2. You control an escaped prisoner of war who was experimented on by enemy scientists, and exact brutal revenge on those that took you hostage using your vampiric abilities of flight, feeding and deadly fury.

I acted as the sole Programmer and Sound Designer on this project, whilst taking great influence from games such as Doom (1993), which embraced a frantic pace and metal influenced soundtrack.

Spell-Reign
(Gamemaker Studio 2)

Spell-Reign is a 2D top-down action-adventure set in a fantastical 11th century Norman England. Avenge the misfortune cast over you by William the Conqueror, and assemble the missing chapters of the Doomsday Book to conjure spells and master the elements at your disposal.

This project was created over a 3-month period for the Tranzfuser funding scheme set up by the UK Games Fund. This not only involved me acting as lead programmer and sound designer, but also presenting the title at EGX 2022 to the general public and networking with several other developers to advance the game as well as the team.

Ripple
(Gamemaker Studio 2)

Ripple is an abstract arcade game where you move a circle around the screen using your mouse to collect shapes and increase your score. However, as your score increases, the size of the circle is decreased with every round; this demands that the player be more accurate with every passing moment.

This was a solo project I envisioned to experiment with Gamemaker Studio 2's audio capabilities; each of the sound effects use the same audio file, but I manipulated it using code depending on its use case.

Flower Fishing

In 2024, I participated in a 48 hour Game Jam and won first prize in the audio category for my first HTML5 game, "Flower Fishing". An abstract game where you must collect pink flower petals flying across the screen with your mouse cursor to form a flower. I programmed, made the art and the audio entirely from scratch within this time period in order to test my ability to manage multiple jobs at once to great success.

Galactic Highway
(Unreal Engine 4)

Galactic Highway was a project I worked on over a week for a music themed Game Jam at Canterbury Christ Church University in January 2020. I acted as an environment artist and was responsible for the core visual theme of the game; through Unreal's material editor, I was able to time the flashing of the emissive materials to the beat of the background music in order to create a cohesive audio-visual experience.

The efforts of me and my teammates resulted in a great game that awarded us second place in the competition based on for our visual design.
